Riffault Sancerre "Auksinis Maceration"

31,90 €

Auksinis Maceration is the only skin-contact (orange) wine produced by Sebastien Riffault. Even if all his wines flirt with the golden-orange color, this is due to botrytis and natural vinification and not to extraction. In Maceration, however, the raisin berries (50% botrytis) are extracted for a week, leading to a golden, explosive effect in intensity and complexity. Floral notes, kumquat, citrus peels really diffuse from the glass, while the palate is completely dry, firm and with equally terrible intensities. A wine that looks like nothing else from the Sancerre area but also like no other orange wine you have ever tasted.

More info

The harvest for Auksinis maceration is done on the same day as Auksinis in a percentage of advanced infestation of grapes by botrytis. The extraction of the whole bunches takes about a week and the alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly and for about three months. The wine will mature with fine wine lees first for two years in stainless steel tanks and then for an extra year in old foudres. Absolutely no intervention and no addition of sulfites will take place at any stage of winemaking. His intensities are penetrating and his style is clearly unique. As if you have taken all the elements of the nipple to a superlative degree and drink grape juice in which alcohol has been magically incorporated in some way.
