Without many winemaking frills, a trademark style of Baudry family who insist on farming organically, spontaneous fermentation, cement and exclusively old oak, the wine has the lightness and freshness of the mainly sandy soil it comes from. Its unadorned beauty lies in the fact that it doesn’t try to perplex things. At any time, you decide to open this wine, it will unfold naturally all the spectrum of the ethereal, fresh, delightful character of Cabernet Franc.
Lightness and freshness of character, like biting the crispiest cherry that ever was. Right along aromas of lavender with the freshness of fennel and freshly ground green pepper. It goes for pleasure and finesse rather than complexity and muscle. But this is there adding of this specific terroir on the variety. And the Baudrys as obedient servants try to render it as clearly as they can, while giving way to the vintage fluctuations. Immediate, vivid and ready to drink with no need for ageing.
