Tournebride, like all Gaudry wines, is made from observation and emotion. Tournebride has no classic winemaking recipe and the wine itself each year shows the producer what to do. It is a blend of different regions of the appellation of origin on different soils, each adding multiple layers to the wine. Precision of expression and tensions, with fruit and minerality in perfect balance. The sense of stone and gunpowder is enhanced by notes of green fruit and vegetation. The mineral backbone of the wine on the palate marries superbly with the freshness of the ripe acidity. The wine has complexity but more importantly a great sense of enjoyment. Tournebride is a benchmark for the new era of Sancerre, a post-modern wine that does not resemble the "stripped down", almost crystal-like character of the region's industrialized wines but has substance and fantastic depth .
