Fun, adventurous and fruity, Robin is one of our favorite Pet-Nat sparklers from the young Hungarian producer, with its orange color due to the fact that the Furmint (50% of the blend) made at least 4-5 days of skin-contact. The remaining 50% of the blend is from the Királyleányka variety (grown in the village of Barabas in eastern Hungary) and both complete the fermentation in the bottle where the wine's smooth sparkle is formed. Pet-Nat are a return to the most traditional way of making sparkling wines, and Robin from the label to the contents reflects exactly what they stand for. It's pleasantly fruity, refreshing, without terrible complexity but wonderfully pure in expression and minerality.
Annamaria uses grapes from both the region she grew up in, that of Barabas, and from the village of Mad in Tokaj, where she buys from an organic grape producer, the famous Furmint. Robin is one of the producer's own favourite wines and as with all her wines everything is done manually and without the use of equipment. Even the removal of sediment from the bottle is done by hand. Totally dry, which is not always the case with Pet-Nat, with precision, expressive fruit and mineral "pulse" in the wine right up to the finish. One of the young producer's wonderful "crazes".
An awesome balance of freshness and oxidative character, a hint of honey aromas and richness reminiscent of the equally wonderful sparkling wines from the Chenin Blanc variety.
