Ch. Cibon Rosé Cuvée Spéciale des Vignettes

40,70 €

Do the wines of Clos Cibonne automatically raise the question? Is this a rosé wine? Perfectly defining the balance between deliberate oxidation, the use of old barrels and wonderfully evolved fruit, the Cuvée Speciale des Vignettes comes from the oldest vines (cups) of the estate's historic Tibouren variety. A variety whose presence has been identified with Clos Cibonne. With a coppery hue, matured under flor and "built" to be kept for a long time in the cellar, it is a great wine different from the mass-produced Provence. A different traditional Provence that "comes of age" in the rosé wine category, pulls the spotlight from the mainstream monotony of the region and highlights the historical breadth of what is - in fact - one of the oldest wine styles in the world.

More info

Here, the distinctive and unique style of Clos Cibonne reaches its apotheosis. One of the estate's top bottlings, from very old vines aged 60-70 years from the region's ancient Tibouren variety, with a small 10% Grenache component. Volume, thickness, richness and complexity of spice, quince spice, orange peel, saffron and dry fruit characters, with surprising length and freshness on the palate at the same time. The age-old vines are organically grown, and the characteristic -almost orange- colour is the result of the direct pressing of the grapes and the oxidative ageing of the wine under the influence of flor. A wine that redefines the perception of what a rosé can be: incredibly savoury and with a unique gastronomic dimension. Try it next to a bouillabaisse and elevate the tasting experience.

Penetrating tensions with beautiful oxidation supported by notes of citrus peel and candied lemon. Give it time to open up and it will throw a party of aromas with saffron and curry, tobacco leaves, nuts such as walnuts and roasted almonds, and earthy notes of truffle. Full of umami on the palate, minerality reminiscent of peat and shellfish, intense...
