    In South Rethymnon, Iliana Malihin never stops working tirelessly to preserve the region's great genetic material and to guide the old vine growers of the area in organic practices. The devastating fire of 2022 had terrible consequences but some of the old vineyards as well as some of the new vines managed to survive. The Thrapsatheri comes from a combination of younger plantings and older vineyards and is produced in a few bottles. The variety traditionally co-exists in field blend vineyards with Liatika, Vidiana, Bee and other varieties. It is a Thrapsathiri with the logic of minimal intervention which is characterized by Mediterranean herbs, ripe fruit and has a soft character on the palate.

    Vineyards with newer plantings and old ones, whose age exceeds 140 years and managed to survive the great fire of 2022 in Melamps and gave this wine a very small production. A truly unicorn wine, produced by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks and with low sulphites. A terribly difficult year after the fire, but the result shows the dynamism and stubbornness of Iliana in the face of all kinds of difficulties.
