Quinta do Infantado
Wine producers, Real Artists!
Portugal

Quinta do Infantado is part of a small group of producers who changed the history of Port forever. Until the 1970s, most Douro growers sold their wines to the region's large Port houses. The Roseira family was among the first to challenge this model, choosing instead to bottle and market their own wines, maintaining complete control from vineyard to bottle.

The estate's history began much earlier, on the banks of the Douro River, in the heart of the Port region. Its vineyards are located exclusively in the Cima Corgo sub-region, the most renowned area of the Douro Valley, and are all classified as Grade A—the highest ranking in the Port vineyard classification system, comparable to Grand Cru vineyards.

The steep schist slopes are planted with traditional field blends of more than twenty indigenous grape varieties, many of them interplanted within the same vineyard. Some of the estate's oldest vines are over a century old and provide the foundation for its finest wines.

Although Quinta do Infantado is regarded as one of the great names of Port, its philosophy remains deeply rooted in family traditions and artisanal craftsmanship. Grapes are harvested by hand, while traditional foot treading in granite lagares continues to play an essential role in the production of the estate's top wines. In addition, part of the vineyards is farmed organically, preserving the natural balance of this unique landscape.

Quinta do Infantado's portfolio showcases the full spectrum of Port styles, from fresh, fruit-driven Ruby and Tawny Ports to outstanding Aged Tawny and iconic Vintage Ports with exceptional ageing potential. Across the range, the defining characteristics are outstanding fruit quality, precision in winemaking, and a remarkable balance between power and elegance. For us, Quinta do Infantado represents the most authentic expression of the Douro today—wines with a profound sense of place and identity.
