The first of Serge Ferigoule's two red cuvees has the peculiarity that its name changes from year to year. Each year the wine bears the name of one of the producer's three daughters. It is a blend of mainly Grenache with secondary blends of Syrah, Carignan, Mourvedre and Cinsault, all classic grapes of the region. Farming is organic and biodynamically certified, and at the winery fermentation is spontaneous, in concrete tanks, and the wine is aged in old oak foudres for 12 months. The embodiment of the stony terroir brings to mind red fresh and ripe fruit combined with smoky aromas of Mediterranean herbs and spicy spices. The tannins on the palate feel as if they have been passed through a fine sieve, with excellent texture and ripeness while the heat of the alcohol is tempered by excellent freshness. Soft, balanced with a persistent finish. A wine that justifies Grenache's title as the Pinot Noir of the Mediterranean.
