Envinate as a joint project of four friends-winemakers proved almost instantly that you don't have to be rich to produce your own wines. You don't need big productions or high-tech wineries. Their rendition of the "fairy tale" came through preserving forgotten traditions in their beloved homelands. There they sought out old vineyards, traditional techniques, winemaker-philosophers, changing the trajectory of Spanish wine almost overnight. Albahra is produced in Almansa one of the four regions of Spain in which they operate and is located in the south-eastern tip of Castilla-La Mancha. It is produced from Garnacha Tintorera and the rare Moravia Agria with organic farming and a hands-off approach to winemaking like all their wines. The result is an instantly enjoyable wine with crystal clear fruit and freshness.

70% Garnacha Tintorera, also known as Alicante Bouschet and 30% from Moravia Agria a grape with low alcohol and high acidity are the blend of Albahra which means small sea. The two varieties are vinified separately in cement tanks with Garnacha undergoing whole-bunch fermentation while maturation is in cement for Garnacha and in neutral barriques for Moravia Agria for a total of 8 months. The fruit is ripe and reminiscent of cherry and plum while spices and mineral notes accompany it. Structured but round on the palate with very fresh acidity and pleasant and clean fruit through to the finish. Another wine from the formidable team that brings to the forefront an almost unknown corner of Spain.
