From the historic vineyards around Chaume and Savennières, Vanessa Cherruau has taken over the historic estate and produces wines that best represent the modern image of the Loire. The Crémant de Loire Nature is yet another superb expression of Chenin Blanc’s potential to produce not only dry or sweet wines but also exceptional sparkling wines. Made using the traditional method and with no added dosage, this is a completely dry sparkling wine with aromas of orange zest, stony minerality, notes of almond and toasted almond, and quince paste. The palate is delightful, salty and mineral with hints of toast and brioche, lively acidity, and a creamy effervescence that far exceeds expectations for this style. Utterly gastronomic, beautifully complex, with that deliciously ripe character of the variety without losing a trace of its energy.
Château de Plaisance’s Crémant de Loire Nature is made from 100% Chenin Blanc grapes sourced from the estate’s select vineyards. The harvest is carried out by hand, while the base wine is vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruit’s purity and natural acidity. Production follows the traditional method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle and 24 months of aging on the lees, imparting complexity and precision to the expression. The wine is bottled without dosage (Brut Nature), highlighting the minerality and freshness of the terroir with an exceptionally crisp character. Sulfites are extremely low, and in the glass you will find a Crémant of high purity, with fine effervescence, a crisp structure, and an authentic expression of the variety.
