The pressure of climate change and the volatility of the vintages on the hill in recent years has led Vanessa Cherruau in 2021 to negoce a range of wines made from purchased grapes from terroirs in Anjou, Bonnezeaux and Thouarcé. The collaboration is exclusively with organic producers and all winemaking and maturation of the wines is done by Vanessa following the same principles in the winemaking part. The age of the vineyards is between 35 and 50 years old and L'Anjou Blanc is a 100% Chenin Blanc with fantastic savoury minerality, freshness and excellent energy. An exceptional work of grapes from passionate winemakers in the region that in Vanessa's hands lead to another stunning expression of the white Loire grape variety.
Grapes purchased from different vineyards in the region always with the principles of organic farming which Vanessa Cherruau vinifies with absolute care and the philosophy of low intervention. The wine is vinified by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks and matured for 9 additional months in them giving a wine of exceptional immediacy, for more immediate consumption with energy, freshness, and vibrant fruit and minerality.
An awesome balance of freshness and oxidative character, a hint of honey aromas and richness reminiscent of the equally wonderful sparkling wines from the Chenin Blanc variety.
