Domaine de Villaine Rully 1er Cru Rabourcé Blanc

82,90 €

“Rabourcé,” one of the “magical” six Premier Cru vineyards where Pierre de Benoist crafts his remarkably refined Chardonnay, is located in the northern part of Rully. It lies on a warm slope, set just behind the neighboring Premier Cru sites “Raclot” and “Cloux.” On the nose, Rabourcé offers a striking combination of ripe white-fleshed fruit notes and fresh butter, alongside a subtle influence from oak. Chalk and minerality define the palate, with an impressive aromatic breadth derived from excellent grape ripeness, evoking apricot and candied pineapple. However, its acidity brings remarkable freshness to the finish while also lending outstanding length. Rich and silky, with beautiful concentration supported by vibrant acidity, this is a wine that will continue to improve with age.

More info

The great 1er Cru Rabourcé from Domaine de Villaine is one of the most remarkable vineyard sites, amphitheater-shaped with a south to southeast exposure, and among the first Premier Cru vineyards recognized in Rully. It is the warmest vineyard of the estate, with white clay soils. The small holding is divided into three separate parcels, and thanks to its exposure and optimal ripening conditions, it consistently produces one of the richest and most generous Chardonnay wines of the estate. Juicy stone fruit is balanced by a firm mineral and lemon-driven acidity. The finish stands out for its saline, mineral character, resulting in a wine of impressive balance and complexity. Vinification takes place in large foudres, along with a combination of oak barrels and demi-muids.
