Loire Cabernet Franc, the perennial outsider of the French vineyard, has at the same time this charismatic dimension – it is the ultimate benchmark for the purity, energy and beauty of its crisp red fruit, ethereal botanicals and freshness in a time when overripeness is galloping. Château de Fosse-Sèche's Eolithe is a flawless example of the elegance and depth of the variety and much more than a wine from certified organic and biodynamic vineyards. You see in the hands of the twins Guillaume and Adrien Piré the historic estate of Saumur continues to look to the future with an absolute commitment to preserving the ecosystem and enhancing biodiversity. A real paradise on earth, a member of CDC Biodiversity 2050 which aims to strengthen biodiversity in agricultural and forest environments against the coming climate change.

More info

Château de Fosse-Sèche Eolithe is a Cabernet Franc red wine with just a 'drop' of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. It belongs to the Vin de France category and is produced in the Saumur region on a stony plateau of the Jurassic period with soils of flint with gravel and clay which allows the roots of the vines (10-60 years old) to go deep into the soil. Aged for around 12 months on the lees in old tanks, it offers a perfect expression of the variety and the specific terroir: smoke, mint, graphite minerality and a lively crisp red fruit give way to a palate with 'biting' tannins and a pleasant smoky mineral finish.
