From the highest altitude of the Couchey vineyards (350m) in the southern part of the Marsannay Designation of Origin and on the border with Fixin, "Les Champs Perdrix" is a vineyard with a particularly steep slope on limestone soils. In this particular lieu-dit there is both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Galeyrand vineyard is planted in 2016 by a massive selection of old Chardonnay clones, and the wine is full of energy with pear aromas, citrus zest, stone fruit and white flowers with excellent nerve and vivacity in the mouth, which is medium to full and results in an extremely long mineral finish. It is as if he is stepping on a tightrope with one side leaning towards the "electrified" energy and the other towards a deeper honeyed character. Answer to those who think that Marsannay does not give excellent whites.

The vineyard is on the top of a steep slope and is cultivated with organic farming. The grapes are crushed and pressed in an old vertical wooden press, fermented with the native yeasts and then matured for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new) and left for an additional 2 months in a tank before bottling. It is bottled without clarification with mild filtration if necessary and sulphites added only at this stage before bottling and do not exceed 50-55 ppm in total.
