Riffault Sancerre "Skeveldra"

Sebastien Riffault’s wines are renowned for their uniqueness and distinctive character, as are their names, which are often Lithuanian due to his wife’s heritage. Skeveldra means “crushed stones,” a reference to the flint that dominates this particular vineyard. In the glass, it reveals rich fruit reminiscent of yellow fruits, jam, and honey, along with notes of dried herbs, against a distinctly mineral backdrop. The wine is rich and powerful, with a lingering finish full of nuts. The oxidative aromas and complexity of Skeveldra make it difficult to describe, while Riffault’s natural winemaking brings out the most extreme potential of the Sancerre region.
