Tetramythos Nature Mavro Kalavritino Rose

15,90 €

The abandonment of viticulture in the mountain villages of Kalavryta, combined with the slow ripening and sensitivity of the Mavro Kalavryton grape, gradually led to the almost complete decline of this variety in the Aegialia region. However, Tetramythos reversed this trend, reviving the rare grape and, since 2005, it has been producing a single-varietal red wine from the steep slopes of this unique terroir, where the sea breeze of the Corinthian Gulf meets the cool mountain air. Nature rosé is the newest addition to the winery's range of wines from this variety; a single-varietal rosé produced using the saignée method, bursting with freshness and finesse. Aromas of red fruits—strawberry, pomegranate, cherry—and wild herbs combine with the characteristic energy of the altitude, lending it coolness and nerve. A soft tannic sensation underscores the fruit, while the acidity carries it into a persistent, crystal-clear finish.

More info

Mavro Kalavritino Rosé Nature comes from organic, dry vineyards over 30 years old, planted in clay-limestone soils on the cool slopes of mountainous Aegialia, at an altitude of 810 m. Cultivation without irrigation, low yields, and the cool sea breeze of the Corinthian Gulf produce grapes with an exceptional balance of fruit and acidity. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the juice remains in contact with the skins in stainless steel tanks. After 24 hours, part of the juice is removed (punching down) and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation continues in oak barrels. Malolactic conversion takes place spontaneously in the same barrels, where the wine matures for 4–5 months before being bottled unfiltered and with minimal sulphites. It pairs wonderfully with pasta with red sauce and vegetables or with dishes that highlight its freshness and minerality.
