From Domaine Gauby in Roussillon, Jasse Côtes Catalanes reveals an unexpected side of white Muscat, far removed from the variety’s classic stereotypes. Through skin contact maceration, the wine develops an amber hue and a character that balances aromatic expressiveness with structure. On the nose, it retains Muscat’s typical, charming aromatic richness—floral notes, citrus peel, herbal nuances, and a hint of spice—yet with a more restrained and “serious” dimension. On the palate, the surprise is even greater. Dry, with a pronounced phenolic character, a subtle tannic grip, and a structure that clearly distances it from the notion of a simple, fruity wine. A gastronomic Muscat with a distinct personality, expressing a more mature and demanding interpretation of the variety beyond expectations.

Jasse Côtes Catalanes from Domaine Gauby is an orange wine made from Muscat, with skin-contact maceration that decisively influences both the color and the structure of the wine. More precisely, it is a blend of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains and Muscat of Alexandria from biodynamic vineyards, crafted with a zero-intervention winemaking approach. An outstanding Muscat that does not revolve around primary aromatics or the sweetness often associated with the variety, but instead focuses on texture, structure, and its relationship with food. A Mediterranean, characterful expression of Muscat—more challenging for many, yet ultimately rewarding for the more adventurous palates.
