Sant'Or Σανταμεριάνα

On the landing of the small farm-winery, gazing at the steeply sloping vineyard of Santameriana as the sun sets, you can't help but think that this world is very beautiful. Wine brings happiness, as does saving a particular variety from complete extinction. The white Santameriana has a nostalgic taste. After all, what else could have prompted Panagiotis Dimitropoulos other than his grandfather's tales to seek out this forgotten variety? Its aromas are wonderful, mild, mellow, fruity, with a cashmere texture in the mouth but in no way are they detached from its beautiful history. A story that enhances the feeling we get from tasting this unique wine.

More info

The vineyard of Santameriana was first planted in 2007 after the research and efforts of Panagiotis Dimitropoulos to revive the variety that belongs to the Asproud family of the Peloponnese. Like all the natural wines of Sant'Or winery, Santameriana is produced with indigenous yeasts, without clarification and filtration with minimal sulfites added only before bottling. The yields per hectare are very low. Santameriana is soft, with depth in the fruit but without being heavy at the same time and with acidity that balances the wine to perfection. Aromas and flavours reminiscent of ripe citrus and white-fleshed fruit, quince and a pleasant mineral finish. Can age beautifully over the next five years.
