    The Paliochalia vineyard is one of those special pieces of land that define the quality of the entire Naoussa region. It is to the region what a grand cru vineyard is to Burgundy—a unique terroir that gives the wine superior qualities and allows it to age effortlessly for decades. The single-vineyard wine comes from the estate's historic vineyard of the same name, which was purchased in the 1960s. The nose is extremely dense and serious, requiring time to open up and reveal its depth. On the palate, the wine is robust and disciplined, with intense depth, energy, and length. Its tannins build a strong, harmonious structure that embraces the dense and concentrated fruit.     On the hill of Paliochalia, in the central-southern part of the zone, the estate's privately owned old vines have been cultivated organically since 1996. The wine is of astonishing complexity, although it takes years to develop its full potential. It matures for about 12 months in French oak barrels and is bottled unfiltered to preserve its flavor characteristics to the maximum. Dense fruit, spicy pepper character, piquant notes, and herbal elements lead to a mouthfeel of astonishing quality and maturity in the tannins despite their young character. A great Naoussa for aging.
