An impressive return from the almost disappeared until recently historical zone, an absolutely modern and elegant blend of the two red varieties of Crete that make up PDO Archanes. The nose is expressive, with "lifted" fruit reminiscent of red plum and red cherry along with an intriguing herbal dimension, something like bay leaves. Very juicy yet round on the palate with a lot of freshness that doesn't seem out of place but extremely integrated into the overall characteristics of the wine. An appetizing light bitterness on the finish reminiscent of aperol and an overall extremely expressive wine with defined lines, modern, clean, structured but elegant at the same time.

More info

The grapes come from a single vineyard at a very high altitude of 650 meters south of the Archanes area. The vineyard is 17 years old and dry with a very low yield per hectare and the soil is stony with a slight slope. The two varieties were vinified separately with long macerations while only the prorogos was used and to emphasize the fruity characteristics and directness of expression the wine was not aged in barrels. A combination of freshness and elegance with power in a fine perfectly balanced result with precision in its expression.
