Tissot Poulsard En Amphore

55,20 €

Made from old Poulsard vines from Arbois planted on Liassic clay, Poulsard en Amphore is another experiment by Stephane, who vinifies the wine in clay amphorae. The wine stands out for its elegance and lightness, with fruity notes of red fruits, light spices, hints of smoke, and subtle herbal nuances. The tannins are gently softened thanks to the clay amphora, which gives the wine an unexpected smoothness in its structure and greater homogeneity and a sense of earthiness. Multi-layered and expressive without losing its agility and coolness. Intense oxidative whites and ethereal, almost airy reds. How different can Jura be from anything else out there?

More info

Arbois Poulsard Amphore comes from 60-year-old vines planted on clay soils dating back to the Liassic period, with a north and northwest orientation. The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted and destemmed. Unlike Vieilles Vignes Poulsard, the wine is macerated in 420-liter amphorae for three months without the addition of sulfites. After pressing, it is aged for 6 months in foudre with topping up and bottled unfiltered. The wine displays finesse and brilliance, with lively red fruit and subtle herbal notes. Tannins that caress the palate, acidity that maintains freshness and balance in an overall light, refreshing, and aromatic style of wine. As elegant as it gets.
