Tsililis Terres Edenia Iggla

The "ingenious" addition of a small percentage of Xinomavro to Limniona of Meteora paves the way for Ioanna Tsilili's new red wine: Tsililis Terres Iggla. A wine intended for long aging, it unfolds its power and complexity. The two varieties blend harmoniously, "embracing" the prolonged (twenty-four-month) touch of oak, which they absorb harmoniously thanks to the low yields per acre and the extremely concentrated raw material. The result is a robust but not heavy wine, with exuberant aromas of wild red fruits and dark flowers—pansies, violets—that give it depth of flavor. Despite its strength, it never loses its balance, positioning itself as the "next track" after Luna as a wine with great aging potential. In its youth, it impresses with its intensity and concentration, while time is expected to reveal it as something even greater.

More info

Tsililis Terres Iggla is produced from grapes harvested by hand in vineyards located at an altitude of over 300 meters, with a 10% slope, clay-limestone soils, and schistose subsoil. Yields per hectare are low, cultivation is dry, and grape concentration is excellent. Limniona and a small percentage of Xinomavro are co-fermented with indigenous yeasts and prolonged maceration. Maturation lasts 24 months in 300-liter French oak barrels, where the wine acquires depth and complexity. It is bottled without clarification or filtration, preserving its character intact, and remains in the bottle for at least 12 months before release. Structured, robust, balanced, with great aging potential.
