Ligas Wines
Wine producers, Real Artists!

Ktima Ligas is located at the foothills of Mount Paiko and stands as one of the most authentic expressions of contemporary Greek natural winemaking. Its roots date back to 1985, when Thomas Ligas first launched the project. Since then, it has evolved into a dynamic family venture, now passionately carried forward by Melissanthi Ligas.

The dry-farmed vineyards stretch across altitudes ranging from 70 to 350 meters and are cultivated following permaculture principles, where the vine coexists harmoniously with the surrounding ecosystem. Human intervention is kept to an absolute minimum, while vine health is supported through natural minerals and herbal extracts sourced from local plants. The result is highly concentrated grapes that clearly reflect their place of origin.

In the winery, the philosophy remains firmly rooted in low-intervention practices. Fermentations occur spontaneously, without additives, and the wines are bottled without fining, filtration, or added sulfites. Tanks, amphorae, and oak barrels are used selectively, depending on the character of each vineyard plot, with the aim of highlighting its uniqueness.

Greek grape varieties—from Roditis and Assyrtiko to Xinomavro, Limniona, and Negoska—take on a different, often unpredictable dimension here, balancing tradition with experimentation. Each wine acts as a distinct narrative, marked by strong personality and a clear sense of terroir. With an annual production of around 40,000 bottles and a presence in more than 15 countries, Ktima Ligas has secured a distinctive place on the international gastronomic scene, becoming a benchmark for those seeking wines with authenticity, energy, and depth.
